Faith & Work: The Zebr Leadership Program made me a better lawyer

«Connecting faith and work is about thinking Christianly in your profession. I used to lack patience and care when people asked me too many questions in an impromptu manner. The Zebr Leadership program was amazing because it taught me Christ`s way, which is serving and loving people». Meet Andrine Like, a Belgian company lawyer based in Brussels.

«As a lawyer I was not a good team player», says Andrine Like. «I functioned best when I worked alone.» But when she became a Christian, she received a spirit of service. This was further developed during her participation in the Zebr Leadership program in 2024-25. «Now I enjoy working with people», she says.

Andrine is a Belgian company lawyer based in Brussels. She had an experience of encountering Jesus in 2019 and was baptized in 2022. After graduating from law-school at the Université libre de Bruxelles in 2016, she became a member of the Brussels Bar, and advised clients and defended cases in Belgian courts. She specialized in business law, with a focus on intellectual property and digital law.

«The friendships made with people across Europe, was a real bonus.»

In 2025, she took a leap of faith and resigned from the Bar, without having a new job to go to. But an opportunity came along with a tech company named ProUnity. It provides a digital platform that brings together clients on one hand with suppliers and freelancers on the other hand for consultancy positions. «It is sort of a middle ground between companies», Andrine explains. Her job as a Legal and Compliance Officer is to strategically advise her company on legal and compliance matters with Belgian and European legislations and regulations.

Andrine is also interested in art history, especially the relationship between art and Christianity. In the future she would like to write and possibly teach on this subject. She heard about the Zebr Institute and the leadership program via a WhatsApp group connected to the Cornerstone network for young professionals in Brussels.

«I saw the post about it and I thought it was an amazing idea», she says. She was not disappointed. «It was really enriching», she says of the program and her experience. The friendships made with people across Europe, was a real bonus. Andrine mentions people from Norway, Austria, and other Belgians with whom she stays in regular contact.

The concept of Faith and Work, a central theme during the Zebr Leadership program, is something Andrine thinks about and practices. Some time ago, before she started working for ProUnity, she trained a fellow lawyer on the job as a Data Protection Officer, and they developed a friendship. Andrine shared her faith with her friend, she became a Christian and now she attends Andrine´s Vineyard Brussels Church, where Andrine co-leads a home group.

Faith and Work is also about thinking Christianly in your profession. She reflects on her previous struggles as a team player and how the Zebr experience helped her grow in patience. «Now I am surrounded by people who ask a variety of questions all the time, and I am working together with the CEO and it is so beautiful. I could not have gotten to this way of doing and seeing things, had I not had the Zebr training and my experience in Church. That was God´s gift to me.»

Andrines newfound love of conversation and interaction also sparked innovative ideas. «I have created a conversation card game, called THE NINETY NINE», she says. «It is based on Luke 15, verse 4, about the lost sheep», she explains. The cards contain prompts the players can read, and also questions about arts and music. It has multiple editions. «Right now, I have opened the game sessions to people who are not yet believers, including sceptics», she says. Andrine has so far hosted two public gatherings where they play her card game. It is targeting people who have questions about faith. It also encourages believers to open up, invite friends, and talk about their faith. «I am going to commercialize the cards, but I´m still working on finalizing the set», Andrine says.
